yo. once the melody kicked in was sick . I didn't really like your intro though. nothing was really added their to build up the excitement before the melody.

your guitar tone was spot on!

keep it up.

VaeVIKTUZ responds:

thanks, i agree about the intro, in the nes version its just a bass drop, i tried a few times to replicate it with my guitar, and that chugging drop is the best i could come up with, i actually was tuning a half step up and down while playin that part lol.
I never felt married to this remake so i figure Icould use the constructive criticism while i work on some new stuff, thanks for the review :)

I actually liked this. very soothing and relaxing. it brought back memories of the ol' runescape and their desert music. ah, what fun.

keep up the good work man.

xxxZigZagxxx responds:

thx!

so you diss people who criticize you're work? that's awesome because I've read other people's reviews and it seems that you only accept positive one line feedbackers.

someone reviewed you saying basically the same thing I was, but you just took a shit and showed hatred to someone who took 30 minutes of their time to find nit-picky things. (I'm very critical with music).

I never said my mixing was flawless. don't ever take what people say out of context.

and no, I will never EVER praise people like you who has quite a bit of music experience. that's what fans are for - to praise you, and critics to criticize your music thoroughly.

jeez.

DJ-Babokon responds:

Check your inbox bro.

the mix is kind of quiet. sure it's catchy, but you need to level out your frequencies more and boost up the synths that need to be louder. the synth that you use for melodies was kind of dull. reverb and delay effects should do the trick.

the percussion and the variation of your song was well written. all you need to work now is your mixdown.

neways, keep it up. please feel free to listen and leave a review on my first submission if you don't mind. i'd appreciate it :)

peace

DJ-Babokon responds:

Fair enough

I love NFS2! one of my favorite games out there - especially the special edition. this song definitely reminded me of a couple of their techno songs.

to me it felt like this track was missing something, perhaps more acid synth arpeggios, i dunno. it could be that the mix is kind of bland. raising the mid-high end frequencies should do the trick.

anyways, thanks for bringing back memories of that game. :) I'm gonna play it again on my old compy now, ha ha. one last thing - feel free to listen and review my first submission. I've just started making techno like a year ago and I need advice! >.< thanks :)

descara responds:

Thanks for the feedback, might revisit this mix if I get some time over! Reviewed back, but I'm not very experienced in electronic music myself, heh.

Now you got me wanting to play NFS2 too, for that matter..

industrial indeed. more like, ambient industrial? heh.

the synth lines is really what made me want to listen to your song more. it was very videogame-esq/ 8bit sounding stuff. the drums fit very nicely with that too.

I wish that your melody there expanded more, into a build up and in the climax you could bring the melody out a bit more. but I never got that. I guess you only made this track in a certain way to keep people daydreaming :P

anyways, keep it up. I like this stuff. :)

ZLEAP responds:

This, much like allot of my other tracks here on Newgrounds, is a work in progress. It indeed needs more to it. I love the fact that you used the term ambient industrial. I am heavily influenced by bands like Nine Inch Nails and Skinny Puppy. There are more but I'd rather not get into that at the moment. The point is, The bands I mentioned there, just in case you didn't already know, are very experimental and have an ambient feel to the music they produce. I aspire to make quality music without compromising my artistic integrity. Much like where I first drew my inspiration to write music.

Oh, and before I forget. The Sega Genesis corrupted my fragile little mind as a child. And it shows.

very deep. this is the kind of chilled out house I like to listen to at 3 AM. I really liked the cool atmospheric sounds in this song. It sounds so.... airy.

my only recommendation is to change the kick sample. It just didn't feel right. perhaps a lighter punchier kick? I guess that's all up to opinion.

keep it up mate. I wanna hear more.

C3NTAURI0N responds:

Thanks for the comments.

I plan on reworking certain aspects in this track but overall I was pleased with the results.

I shall try to keep up the postings as and when I can find the time. I am working on a new album with some artwork done by one of my friends down in Stoke, but I will definately submit a track from it onto hear. I aim for the final result to be done before the new year. So stay tuned :)

Many thanks for the listen, and support with feedabck!

I like your style man! very unique. I wish dubstep was more like this, rather than just the WUBWUBWUB synth.

cool melody lines too. it really makes your song feel like it's full.

as always, keep it real. gonna add you to my favourites. :)

1600 responds:

Thanks man!

interesting. I like the darkness of this track. the intro of this song reminded me of the matrix, so I guess that's a good thing. :)

I would fix up the high end frequencies in your mix. it just isn't bright enough if you know what I mean. also, the ending didn't really feel like it ended. you just sort of cut off it off there at the end. I was hoping for more of a closure there.

other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this. keep it up.

1600 responds:

Thanks for the review :) I actually did consider making it brighter, but I thought that it might detract from the dark element of the song. As for the ending, I was honestly just tired of having it around as a WIP because I couldn't come up with anything good for the end, so I just cut it off. Perhaps I'll come back to it sometime if I think of anything good.

very egyptian. I want more of this, you can never get tired of arabic scales. you can do so much with them! I wish there was more of a build up in the middle before the last bit of the song, to keep the variation going.

otherwise, it's a refreshing tune. keep making more stuff like this, it's awesome!

Anth0n responds:

I can do better.

I make Techno using FL Studio.
